2026 Match Play Championship

Saturday - Sunday August 15 - 16, 2026

 

Eligibility: This event is only open to Members of the University of Maryland Golf Course

 

Sign Up: Players sign up the day they qualify.

 

Format: 18 hole match play. 4 Flights.

Championship - Black tees

Gold Flight - Gold tees

White Flight - White tees

Red Flight (60+) - Red tees

 

Qualifying Dates:

July 26, August 1, August 8

(Players may qualify up to two times, the low 8 scores from each flight will make match play)

 

Seniors will play round 1 Friday August 15 with tee times starting at 1pm

 

All other round 1 matches and senior round 2 matches will be played Saturday morning with tee times beginning at 8am. Round 2 matches will have tee times starting at 12:30.

 

Championship matches will be played Sunday with tee times starting at 8am

 

Entry Fee: $25 per player. Paid at time of qualifying.

 

Prizes: 25% of the field will receive golf shop credit in awards.

 

*Scorecard tiebreaker - The winner will be determined based on the score for the last nine holes, last six holes, last three holes, and finally the 18th hole. If there is still a tie, then the last six holes, three holes, and final hole of the first nine holes will be considered in turn.
